Newborn Studio Sessions: A Calm, Connected Beginning
Samford, Brisbane Newborn Studio
Those first days with a new baby are a blur of softness, sleeplessness, and deep emotion. Everything feels new again — even time itself. In the middle of it all, getting out the door can feel like a huge achievement in itself.
That’s why my newborn studio sessions are designed to feel like the opposite of rushed.
My studio is a quiet space where you can arrive just as you are. There’s no expectation for perfect timing, settled babies, or perfectly coordinated plans. We move gently, following your baby’s rhythm and your family’s needs. There is space to feed, cuddle, pause, and simply be.
These sessions are about connection first. The way your baby fits into your arms. The way your partner looks at you when you think no one is watching. The tiny details you’re already starting to forget, even though it feels like they’ll stay forever.
I focus on creating images that feel like memory — not just what it looked like, but what it felt like to be there.
A relaxed, guided experience
You don’t need to prepare anything complicated. I’ll guide you through everything from what to wear through to how the session flows. Most families are surprised by how simple it is once they arrive — and how quickly they can relax into it.
Newborn sessions in the studio are calm, unhurried, and centred around keeping your baby comfortable. There is time built in for feeding, settling, and breaks whenever needed.
What I photograph:
I focus on natural, connection-led imagery:
Parents holding and connecting with their baby
Tiny details — fingers, lashes, soft newborn skin
Siblings meeting their new brother or sister
Quiet, in-between moments that often go unseen
Nothing forced. Nothing overly posed. Just your family as you are in this season.
A studio experience with space to breathe
My studio is designed to feel warm, simple, and peaceful — a space where you can slow down for a moment and take it all in. Many families tell me it feels like a small pause in the middle of a very big life change.
Whether you’re coming from Samford, Brisbane, or making your way from the Sunshine Coast, the intention is always the same: to give you space to be present with your new baby.
Why these images matter
Newborn days pass quietly, even though they feel all-consuming at the time. One day you’ll realise how much has already changed.
These images become your reminder.
Not just of how small they once were, but of how it felt to begin as a family in this new way — the love, the overwhelm, the stillness, the connection.
Something to return to, again and again, long after the newborn stage has passed.
